I have a request to build a rod with a college logo decal/sticker. I have not found a source online that is sized for fishing rods. Decal Connection will produce one if they have a letter from the legal department approving the decal. That would be a challenge and probably a licensing fee. Thanks

This has likely been covered, so I apologize if this is a repeat.
This is a 2 part question. Building on an NFC X-Ray matte blank. I have yet to apply a decal to a rod yet and I want to insure the best success that I can. I've seen a few videos where the blank is more or less prepped with a very thin lay of epoxy first and then applying the decal after words. I've also seen it done with no pre

6. Expo Update
Exhibitor Update as of January 14, 2024-
We're just 6 weeks out from the 2024 Expo. Here is the latest update of the companies and firms that will be exhibiting at this year's event. There are a small handful of contracts still out but what you see here will be the bulk of those attending. Exhibitor square footage will likely be the largest in Expo history as so many companies have purchased add

I have built a number of fly rods this past year. They are all different sizes and weights, I have all of the info on the blanks I have used. The labels that came with the blanks are OK but I want my own custom label, nothing tacky just a small logo and the size, wt of the rod. Where can I get labels either made or make them myself. I am going to build 4 or 5 more rods this year so maybe a ch

I am currently working with a client on a Marine Corps build. I have searched the archives for the USMC colors but I havent see anything regarding to Madeira thread numbers. Does anyone have a hex to Madeira conversion chart?
He is looking for an American flag butt wrap with his name, rank, dates of service along with the USMC emblem and his stripes. I have created the image to use for the

We're still 4 months out but many exhibitors are already on board for the 2024 event. Below are those that have actually purchased booth space thus far. I expect this list to at least double if not triple within the next 60 days or so.

I know there are tons of discussions on this board about how to use decals and an epoxy coating for the labels on our custom built rods. However, I have not been able to get a smooth, clean epoxy layer no matter how hard I try. Factory-built rods silkscreen (I think) the labels using a durable paint with no epoxy overcoat. Has anyone tried to do this on your builds? Is there equipment out there t

Just wanted to get an idea of your average labor charge for a Stand Up Tuna rod.

Been buildings rods for quite sometime but this kind of charge is stumping me.
Built 6 Stand-up rods and 2 wire line rods awhile ago. My customer was recently divorced so I have to do a name change
on all of his rods, Enough said there.
It involves ordering 8 new decals, black overwrap over the old decals, new coat of epoxy in preparation for the new decals,
Placing new decals on each rod, a

I have used water slide decals many times in the past with little problems but yesterday I cannot get decal to slide off backing easily and when it does slide it comes off in a messy blob. I have tried different soaking times and does not matter. Decal paper is made by Haynes and is about a year old. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I was putting a second coat of Gen 4 on today and all was going well until I ran into a hiccup with one of two decals. One of them (my name) turned out great, but the other one (rod specs) just wasn't looking right. So, since it already had one coat on it and that one looked fine, I decided I'd take a microfiber with alcohol and gently run it over the decal while the dryer was turning in hopes of

I ordered a few rod blanks from Rod Geeks and they came a few weeks ago. I pulled them out of the tube and inspected them to make sure they were ok and then put them back in the tube as I was working on some other builds. Yesterday I pulled out the C260LF that I am building for a crappie/small creek rod and it didn't have a decal with the rod specs. I checked the other 2 rods and they didn't eith

When I was into bike building and metal fabrication I spent so much time cruising forums and blogs of various builders and fabricators and I always fell hardest down the rabbit hole for chronicles of builds. To watch the build progress and read the conversations that happened along the way was amazing. To watch someone's vision unfold over time was a great experience and basically represented fue

Does anyone know of someone that makes decals for vintage rebuilds? I have a customer with a couple Lew's Laser Graphite Speed Sticks LS4-156. The decals have all faded.

Lots of excitement building around the upcomming Expo which may well turn out to be the largest in the event's history. I have changed the floor plan a bit to allow more exhibitors to get in. This is the latest list which includes a few new companies on board since last week-

Another half dozen exhibitors on board in the past couple of days. Again, these are the companies that have actually purchased exhibit space. Several others have made verbal commitments but will not be listed or assigned space until they have secured booth space. I have carved out a little more room on the floor plan so we can accommodate just a few more.
