have you tried the R2748 Sea Guide Titanium RSOL TI-XBG Spin/Cast Guide from anglers workshop? They remind me a lot of fujis k guide.

Sounds nice compared to my second build. I thought I mixed the two epoxys but it turns out I put both syringes in the resign container! Sat and fiddled with it making it look nice and what not and left it to dry overnight came back the next day and still was was wet. Realizing my mistake I brushed it all off and put the hardener on hoping it would do the trick but it only dried spotty. So took so

66. Re: Permagloss
Do a lot of people use it? From what it sounds like it would be a hard one to beat! I think Ill buy a bottle and do some test coats is there any certain techniques to applying it or is it about the same as epoxy? I was looking through the search bar but mostly it sounded like people use it on handles and refinishing blanks.

67. Re: Permagloss
when you say looks different does that mean like waves and lumps or a different shine? Is this one of those deals that I'd just have to do some testing to see what it looks like?

What are your guys thoughts on using permagloss on thread instead of epoxy? If I were to enough coats could I get a high build like epoxy?

Ok would you use a double foot for the second guide and then single foot the rest of the way? Maybe I'll just go 6's the whole way down. How bout Fuji k guides what's your thoughts on using them for a spiral the whole length?

So I think I have it figured out I'm going to use the Lamiglas SI941MH salmon/steelhead blank for Hover fishing, light back bouncing and trolling if need arises. Using a diwa Lexa hsl 300 casting reel. I want to do a simple spiral and was just curious how this sounds to all the experts. Stripper guide would be a 12mm double foot then my first 180 guide would be a 8mm double foot then 6mm single f

Reading you book here and you suggest your first guide be slightly offset towards the way your spiral is going and it won't effect your reel bunching up, if I read that right? Which leads to my next question how do you determine where your first 180 dagree guide would be?

When doing a spiral wrap do you put the spine on the bottom or top of the rod? I would think bottom but just wanted some good opinions from use guys. Also when when installing the stripper guide would it still be about 18 to 20 inches from the reel or would you move it closer so you have more room for the transition? I keep hearing about people's line building up on one side of the reel just curi

Ok thanks guys! I have another question, aluminum reel seats how do you size them to your rod? And is there a way to make sure it's gonna fit your reel before you get it?

I was wondering if anybody had any guide suggestions on this blank St. Croix 8'6'' 12-25 lb. 1/2-2 lure. I would like them to be as light as possible without jumping into the titanium price point. I would like to try a spiral wrap as well and any suggestions on sizeing would be great:) thanks!
Tom
Was curious if you could point out one of your magazines that go over guide sizeing and how you

Could a guy cut it down? Yes I agree you would want a shorter rod but nobody makes that short of a rod in 2 piece and I really like 2 piece:)

8'6" but an 8'3" is would be even better! Is it still a 2 piece and be good for hover fishing? Yea that would be great if you could.
Thanks a bunch for the help!

Spencer do you think a mag medium hot shot would work for this application? It's the same rod I mentioned in last post but just found out it's a mag medium.....tell you the truth I've never heard of a mag medium.

Another thing will cutting a blank effect how you feel the bite? I'd like to be able to tell if a fish even breaths on it:)

Spencer from what I have gathered you live in the northwest!? Have you ever hover fished the mouth of the klickitat? The rod I'm going to build will be for that, I would like a shorter rod around 8'2 or so the one I'm looking at is a cousins CIHS8512 xf 8'6 10-20# lure weight 3/8-1. I don't think I really need an extra fast action but I would like to keep the power the same or maybe even bump it

Was just curious if I were to cut a 2 piece rod would I have to cut the top and bottom half or all off the top? Would like to make a fast action into a medium in a 2 piece that's a shorter rod but there hard to find
Thanks Trace!
