Don't forget old pennies weigh more then the new ones. Solid copper pennies weigh 3.11 grams (+/- 0.130 g.), whereas the copper plated zinc pennies weigh only 2.5 grams (+/- 0.100 g.).

Great Book for sure, I still reference back to it occasionally. Same thing with Billy V's Book on thread work. Great Book but I don't do a-lot of decorative wraps these days as I feel it does take away the vibration's and sensitivity of the rod. If I were building Trolling & Boat Rods that would be different.

Scotch Brite Green and grey, The {Gray} Scotch Brite Ultra Fine Pad will leave a nice shiny sheen use it Up & Down. And they will and not damage the blank. I use maroon, green, then grey with alcohol when I don't want a painted blank. Their simply No reason in my eye's to paint a blank, And most people I build for Agree. If I build on a Rainshadow immortal Titanium Chrome Finish That's what

The way I read it is, The soft touch grips are completely resin filled and smooth, V/s Other carbon fiber grips that are Not completely filled smooth and have more texture for gripping, Although still sealed with resin. But the old adage still stands for the most part, Flush with fresh water after using it in salt. So I don't see an issue.

No Dave, I'm sorry but I'm sure someone here on the forum should have done CCS testing on one by now. If I were in your location, I would just run to Jann's and get your hands on a few. Looks like their all in stock.

Chris, I boat fish big fast deep river walleye in the Detroit river, Jigs 3/4 oz are a must even though the average fish now is 3-5 lbs with the occasional 6-8 lbs thrown in the mix. Like you, The heavy wt# is required to keep in contact with the bottom, Most of the guys out their are fishing pool cue rods, {{Not my idea of fun.}} And No one make a Med X-Fast 3/4 oz rod for this fishery, It a sit

I've been looking at the X-Ray line-up for walleye casting 1/4 jigs and 3" twisters as well as Rapala's HJ12 @ 7/16 and have yet to find one with their crazy listings. Like Michael stated their all over the place and no consistency. Even on the {walleye central forums} I could not even get a suggestion.

I found what may be a connection?? I hit a bass forum and a very old 2006 discussion about spiral wraps. I'll past it. Schneiders rod shop in Arkansas is Mentioned Below. So I would call Ron, I think he will be able to help you out. He's a great guy to do business with as well. Phone: (870) 424-3381 His add is in the left column

I seen that! Can you X-ray veterans, Help me out? Walleye casting rapala HJ10's 3/8oz or 1/4oz jigs and fluke's- at 3/8oz. This is a {shore} night casting technique, The big St. Clair River. Fast-action ML will it throw 3/8 comfortably ?? or Med I know will throw them, But I'm thinking it's to stiff in the mid section costing me fish? 2 1/2 - 3 lb eye's maybe an occasional 4lb, I've never bu

I see that NF is now offering, regular X-ray as well as smooth buffed blanks as well. I might just try one for throwing rapala HJ10's for walleye. X-ray Mirror Black blanks are in a satin black glass smooth finish. We achieve this finish by “buffing” the blanks retaining their action and crispness.

I would have asked them for a, Gradient with overlapping colors that you want. I would call them back and make that clear. I Have seen several Rod Geek's done that way. I had seen a Jimmy Hendricks theme rod, That was purple and white and it was an awesome build!! However I have not personally built on their Blakes. Tight Lines!!!!

Simple remove it it. If I wanted a painted blank I would use Rod Geeks, Their is zero reason for paint on a blank other then it being a cheap way to finish a Blank. At least give Me the choice Batson!!! I buy very few Rainshadow blanks anymore From Them because they don't listen, My number #1 reason is 75% of my Customers don't want it. And that also includes Me!!!!!

Don't overlook the Fuji plate reel seats as they work great with a carbon fiber tube grip. Kind of a Tennessee style grip That's very light and comfortable. They lock-up good and are very sensitive.

With covid, This has been the Biggest year to Date for Shippers. No one is shopping at Local Brick and Mortar Stores. Also if you watch the news? Springfield, IL has been hit hard with covid, They very well could be operating with a limited staff? This year has been a test in patience for sure, Lots of these orders start out UPS and then get handed off to the USPS for delivery. Our local USPS
