I have a spinning rod that the rod coating slivered off. It is about 3/4" long but it does not seems to have affected the rod. It is about 12" from the tip. I noticed that the line was getting caught in it. Am I best to just but a coat of finishing epoxy around it or leave it as is?

I have a rod were the folding part of the hook keeper came off. I could not find the part. Does anyone know of an easy way to fix this without cutting off the threads and possibly the winding check?

Guys thanks for the reply. David I understand what you are talking about with the spacing. I have 8 guides total so it looks like I will be picking up a couple more guides. This rod is replacing the original ch70mh rod blank that was stepped on and broken. My plan was for a double foot guides of 12 - 10 then singles of 7 - 6 - 6- 6 - 6 - 6. I might have to rethink this set up. Dan

I am building a crankbait rod on a revcb70mh Rainshadow rod blank. I ordered 5 of the Fuji size 6 L all purpose BLAG guides for the running guides. When receiving the order the guide height seems to close to the blank. Is this something to be concerned about or are these the correct guide for this application. Thanks

I don't own a rod with an extra fast action. However I have been reading for vertical jigging an extra fast action is best. That might rule out some of these rods. If anyone has any input on this that would be great. I will be going with one of these rods. Thanks

I am looking at building a rod for vertical jigging for walleyes. it will be used for 1/8 to 1/4 ounce jigs. It will only be used for this application. I am thinking 6' 3" medium lite blank. Also I am willing to spend some money for this blank. Any ideas for handle and guides would also be appreciated. Thanks

I am replacing a reel seat that cracked. I will be replacing the rear grip from the bottom of the rod blank. Is there an easy way to ream the rear grip evenly throughout the whole grip? Also I plan on using masking tape for the arbors. Is there something besides masking tape that would work better?

I am building a 7' 6" heavy flippin stick with micro guides and I am using a size 10 for the butt guide then 5.5 and 4.5 runners for guides. On the butt guide it seems like the line rides high to were there is an angle were the line hits the top of the guide. I have moved the butt guide further from the reel out to about 27 inches and that helped. Is this angle where the line touches the

Hey guys. I just recieved the 4.5 BKTAG guides for this rod as recommended. This is definetly much smaller than I have used before. The blank looks like a bigger diameter than the guides. I just want to verify hat I will still get good casting distance with these guides. Thanks

I am planning on making a pike rod using a MHX FS906 blank. I would like suggestion on guides for this rod. My plan is to use Fuji alconite BLNAG guides. I have been hearing about using micro and fly guides which is something I have never used. Would they work on a rod like this? It is a 7'6" heavy rod. Any suggestion for guides for this rod? This rod will be used for casting only.

I was cleaning up a couple older rods and some of the finish seems to be starting to lift at the end of the guide. It is not up by the thread but where the finish ends on the blank. Am I best to try and touch this up some how or wait intil it becomes a problem and replace the whole guide? It is just on the side where the guide foot ends.

I just built a new spinning rod and when first trying it out it seemed to make a creaking sound when under pressure. I have never noticed this before. I assume it is the finish flexing. Is this normal?

Would the FS966-MHX work? I see the power is fast compared to mod fast with the rod you ar using.

I am looking for a rod blank for pike fishing. I will be throwing 2 oz baits. I am looking at the Raishadow blanks. They have the 7'6" flippin sticks in med heavy and extra heavy. Also they have the 7'10" swimbait rods. Does anyone have an opinion or experience on these blanks for pike fishing?

I am having hard time finding a split grip handle for a 7' baitcaster rod that I like. It seems like on all on the places I have checked on line the choices are limited. Does anyone know of a site with a better selection?
