I bought a few Spey blanks from Batsons when they first offered them. Over the years I have lost a couple of the tags. Does anyone
have an old catalog or might know... I have a 3 piece 13' that I think is a 7/8. Then I have an 11'6" 4 piece. If I remember right, back when they first came out, there was only one blank that was 3 piece, 13', etc. Ring any bells with anyone?

Thank you everyone. I have built on a ton of Batson blanks but I have been out of it for about a year and the names of the blank lines have changed. I'm waiting for a price on the Revolution now.

7. Pink Blank
I'm looking for a Pink Steelhead blank. 9' 8-12 or a touch heavier. Can anyone point me in the right direction? All I can find are short spinning blanks.
Thanks, Jeff

Thanks guys. I will check all of those out. Sounds like a ton of opportunities with the graph paper too.

Can anyone suggest a resource for alphabet and number left lists? I'm just looking for something a little more decorative than the standard 7 thread block letters. Thanks

Raymond, I have searched for the Easy-Weave and found some references but I don't see any sponsors mentioned. Can you tell me who carries these?
Thanks, Jeff

Greetings all, I've been away from the board for awhile and am amazed at all of the new ideas out there,. I am getting more into the thread work and need to move up to using a loom. I know the Wonder Weaver is out there but I am looking for something a little less expensive to start. I remember one from a couple years ago but can't find anything here with a search. Can anyone advise which sponsor

Ken, don't let a few responsed keep you from continuing to seek help here. I don't know why it is but the only negative I have ever found on this board is what you just went through. I believe Tom is the only moderator but you'll always get a few posts abount how you didn't perform your search right. And they're always a little more accusatory than helpful. Not all of course but enough. But you d

Has anyone used this company for dipping any rods or components? They are just down the road from me. Or are there any sponsors who provide this service?
Thanks,

Bill, check out the Batson line of spey blanks. Great price point and the spey casters that I have built them for say they love them.

I have a customer wanting a 15' to 16' one piece rod, 25#-40# I can find the blanks in a two piece and up to 13 1/2 in a one piece. Do any of you know of anyone making anything with these specs?
Thanks,

I partially agree that this is a very interesting post. However it is also one of the silliest that I've read in a long time. A multi-million dollar corporation hates custom rodbuilders? And is choosing to walk away from a huge profit just to stick it to us? I'm having a touch of a problem with that. I haven't been a fan of Loomis since Shimano bought them out completely. I found some quality con

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Used the caps to measure and worked fine. I like the method of drilling the caps and leaving the syringes in place.

For the first time in I can't remember how long I am out of syringes. I need to apply some finish tonight or first thing in the morning and have no place close to get any. I'm finally going to try the Threadmaster I bought several months ago. How exact do I need to be? If I'm real close with my 50/50 mix will it be close enough? Usually I feel lucky to live an hour from Angler's Workshop but toni

Cody, this site, along with the Rodmaker magazine has taught me more over the past few years than I learned in over 30 years of rodbuilding. Becasue of that, I will buy from sponsors of this site when possible. Most of my purchases are made from one sponsor and I have a loyalty to them for the way they have treated me. If they chose to not be a sponsor here any longer, I would still purchase from

I'm in SW Washington and have been searching rear windows and have yet to see one. Except for mine of course. I'm a little disappointed but I imagine it will take a bit for us to start seeing many of them out and about.

Please don't take this as a shot at you Tim as I enjoy seeing all opinions on here. I have been building rods for about 32 years. God it hurts to say that. I am nowhere near the best rodbuilder that I know personally let alone compared to many on this forum. I sell around 70 rods a year and I believe I put out a decent rod. If a test came into play, by what standard would we make the benchmark? I

30. Re: Yew Wood
Thanks guys, I did perform an internet search before I made my post and have a ton of information regarding what Yew wood was used for up to thousands of years ago. Not finding much on uses for it now. I know it is incredibly hard so I thought it may make a good durable insert. I suppose I'll try a couple and see how they look
