Pict. shows a V block that stands off the wrapper that is the same height as the ones on the wrapper just move past the end but then you would need a long place to put it.
The wrapper is 4ft long and the black straps are velcro with a piece of white on the other side of the V.
If I ever need an extension for it, it would have an adjustable leg to hold the other end.
Thanks for bringing the pic

Looking into the DC part I have no idea of how big of a motor or what controller to get?

I don't plan on doing a lot of building.
What would be a good DC motor and power source for it if I went that way V what I was planning was a sewing machine motor and a reducer pulley?

Has anyone given any of the thread a break test?
I know that sunguard is hard to break and I wonder what the shrink value would be in all the thread in general or isn't that a consideration?

I tried the sunguard thread and it seems to work just fine. I did a one color butt in red It looks as good as any other thread. I think the last time i picked up some it was $12 for a 1000 yrds. If any of you want to try it do a test run first.

For the drier I bit the bullet and got an AMERICAN TACKLE ROD BUILDING DRYER.
The rod wrapper I first built about 20yrs ago but it went some where about 10 yrs ago had a sewing machine motor on it. and the one I have now is man powder by hand. I am building a new one from maple. I'll try to post a pic. of it when I get it done just missing a few things I think I'll have it going next week.

That is the pulley I am Looking for Where did you get it and the shaft it is mounted on?
As for the cost by the time I get it done I'll have less than $50 in it unless I go with a different motor.

15. Rod wraper
What I have is a rod turner set up for drying.
I have a motor and want to use it for doing the wraps.
What I want to do is find approximately 1/4in shaft with bearings that I can attach it a board and put a pulley on one end and something to hold the rod on the other end.
Any one know where to find any of this (shaft, pulley or rod holder)?
