Jason, There is no arbor - they are hollow. We recommend at least 3 inches as the length of blank to go into the grip. You can always go longer, but it’s not needed. You can also use a graphite arbor, but tape works. There’s a pretty lengthy discussion on a build - just use the search function of the forum. Aleks

Rob, You missed my point, and I do not know how I can be any clearer. We could have taken the 705-4 and gave it the same exact rating as the 705-1, we didn't, they got expanded ratings because that's what the blank can handle. An overloaded 705-1 blank on a snap cast would break about 17-18 inches down from the tip. A 705-4 will not, because there is a ferrule there. Its not stiffer, its

Rob, "I also go back to the 80/20 rule...why is there so many options. Most people want a 7' M, MH, H bass rod, a 6'10" walleye jig rod, a swimbait rod or 2, and some inshore and boat rods. Currently they have 48 travel models!!! Half of that would still be an insane offering." I have sales offices in Europe (France), Korea, Japan, Australia, not just the US, I am sorry th

Thank you David, Les, all. @ David - correct, if a pattern does not go into the next blank powers curve, it will pass the flex test. Very rarely you will have a 703 becoming two powers heavier - this means that the fiber and the resin in the material were way out of spec, OR a wrong mandrel got mixed into the batch. In both cases, the blank would be scrapped, because even if the flex measur

Thank you ALL for your kind words. A picture is worth 1,000 words - so here’s a picture: David - to answer your question is that when a blank gets designed, and approved for production, it gets a “master curve” which is derived from the retain. The 10% of blanks that get flex tested against the retain, get put on a production flex board when the pattern is being ran. The picture represents a

Al, Yep - you can still order, (if it says "read more" send Kelsey an email, that happens when she has some amount already on backorder). The IG blanks (all) should be back in stock by end of Jan - they sell out during the BFCM periods. Aleks

Dear Rod Builders, There has been a few posts about blank variances, and while I cannot address those of different manufacturers, I can address those related to NFC. I had an email exchange with a customer/participant of this forum, and our thread is below. If they wish, they can chime in, but below is an excerpt from our discussion, with some more info added: I hope that it serves to ed

David, Yes. We have to work within the parameters of the phorum software and make some custom additions - The first stage will be to update to the latest version of the software that exists (which encompasses the features you are talking about, in addition to the photo upload within a post) and then focus on some additional upgrades around the search function while keeping the same stru

Dear All, Those of you that use the Rodbuilding.org app, we are currently working on an update. Personally, I'd like to see two additions as they would make my posts and browsing easier - 1) Copy Paste of text 2) Pinch and Zoom for images What are your "must haves" to "nice to have" Thanks, Aleks

Bruce - Thanks for your kind words. A company can’t be built without repeat business. There are simply not enough “new” rod builders entering the craft. We serve thousands, all over the world, vast majority of those who are happy, repeat customers. Is our business model perfect for everyone? No. We are a factory, not a reseller or a distributor whose function is to carry inventory. T

Daryl, You can pick up the phone or send and email to see if a blank is in stock, or you can browse live inventory of blanks. You didn’t. You decided that the best approach is to make a post under the guise of personal experience, both on a Facebook Post, and here. Only when called out that you have never transacted with my company did you clarify that you are not, and have not been a customer

Ben, The part of the irony that isn’t lost on me, is that you have the CEO of a company, reply to a post on a forum that his company pays to run and operate thinking that maybe his team missed a message, or there is a genuine request for help (customer service) and the posters main gripe/complaint is …. The lack of Customer service., and that’s why he’s not a customer. The problem I have wi

David, With all due respect, you "opinion" was to attempt sway folks away from NFC. The thread was about a specific NFC blank, and not only have you no experience with the blank, you have no experience with NFC. I have removed myself intentionally from deleting NFC posts like yours, and I don't believe that a forum is a place for airing of grievances, However, I do believe that
