Thanks for all the fantastic replies and as matter in fact, I have a spool of size A Guac, I'll give it a good second look as well as all the other suggestions. The rod is not for a Notre Dame fan, this lucky guys parents stopped by my booth and just said they wanted me to make a White 7' inshore 8 - 15, with all the bells and whistles and OH, Can you make the accent color "Kelly Green"

I sold a rod build before I realized how difficult it is (for me at least) to find size A "Kelly Green" thread! I'm taking any and all suggestions on this one! I have a few that I am looking at, but if you Google "Kelly Green", and try to find a match, it seems to be difficult to "match" the color. ProWrap comes up with Neon Green, Fuji Ultra has "Medi

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked! I have an article in this months Rod Builder Magazine in regards to "Rapid Prototyping" (RP) and how I use it in my builds. I'm also a sponsor for this site, Banana River Rods. I make my own winding checks, along with my patented "Hook Keeper". If you or anyone is interested in adding a truly custom part to you

2 things .... 1. What is the "Inside Diameter" of the EVA that you're looking for? 2. Ever think about wrapping the base with Paracord?

Just my 2 pennies here ...... I think its all a matter of personal opinion/preference. When I am making a rod for someone who KIND OF suggests "money is no object", when you pull out a "burled cork" handle, "eyes "light up". Alternating between light and dark cork also makes people kinda take notice. I made a rod for my brother who lives in Maryla

Mudhole sells thin sheets of "Brown" EVA, but that probably won't help your issue. Unless someone else chimes in with a vendor, you might have to do the "cork" option ....

Jim, This may be outside of what you're thinking, but you can go to Decal Connection (One of the sponsors on this page) and ANY "script" you want or any "font" you can think of, they can make it as a "decal" in Gold Medal or Silver Medal. Most ANY color you can think of as well and they can also "shadow" the text if you want. Best part is, purchasing ju

You CAN remove the decal, with a LITTLE heat, don't over do it! ALSO, Can you use a "pin" and poke holes right where the bubble is? I've had to do this in the past and it works. Just poke a hole in the label right on top of the bubble and burnish it flat. Getting the entire decal off is pretty easy, but it will leave the sticky residue and a lot of people will tell you not to

Someone also told me that all shipping companies are being monopolized to send the Covid vaccine and that anything else being shipped will take a back seat, even holiday packages.

1. Chicks dig it. 2. Putting finish on is always easy. 3. Every rod blank from the same lot is exactly the same.

I quit shipping anything over 8 feet because i had a similar issue a year and a half ago. Fortunately there are so many people in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach who want beach rods, I don't have to worry about shipping anymore. By the way, and this is sometimes hard to wrap your head around, its cheaper to buy your fishing rod a flight on a plane, than it is to ship it..........
