Trying to find 2 tiptops for 2 personal surf rods I am building:
Fuji TMNATs (titanium frame, Alconite rings). Need a 10(10) and a 10(9).
I have tried every place I could, but no luck. My understanding is the Fuji does not make these anymore, but also have heard that some folks may have some laying around.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Norman,
I listed above that its a 60/40 split...it may actually be more like a 70/30 split. Either way, the great news is that these blanks are always built with all of the guides on the tip section. When/if I extend the blank, I will have to cut off and relocate/replace the reel seat, which is easy enough. Main thing Im looking for now is a parallel wall solid rod or tube to use for

Great idea Mark. The only challenge there is that the WRI butts are coveted/valuable as they can interchange with some other tops. The tip sections are so heavy on these type of rods, that normally you dont see them break very often. The more I look at the situation, I think that a longer plug/ferrule on the inside and no outer sleeve might be the ticket because of the fact that the "repai

Thanks everyone for the info. I saw the repair article in the library....Thanks Tom for that reference. Really helps understand the overlap "calcs" better just like Spencer referenced. I think my biggest challenge in going to be finding a suitable outer sleeve with the right fit/material.
I may end up bailing on the entire idea, as another local builder is offering a great $ to b

Kind of a weird question I know:
I have a Wheels Reels, Inc. (WRI) Fusion Blank that I built on about 10 years ago. The blank was 13' and I cut 6 inches off of the butt, to build the rod overall length at 12'6". The rod blank is a 60/40 split 2-piece. The butt section for these blanks were built 22mm OD and are parallel section (non-tapered). I still have the 6 in cut-off piece and wa

I’m sure there’s an easy solution and point of contact, but I couldn’t find it readily.
I am registered here under 2 names: Scott Hunt and W. Scott Hunt (or maybe William Scott Hunt, III). This was due to inactivity on the board here on my part, combined with changing the email address is due to changing employment.
I would like to consolidate or get rid of one in order to simplify thin

Sorry everyone, especially Herb: I had been inactive years black and had gotten locked out of my old name and email here and had re-registered under a slightly different name. All of my information, including my email address should be correct from this post forward. Thanks again for everyone’s help.

I read up a little and I think I was mistaken: II think the Pro-Flex is the one described as "formerly Aftcote".

I dropped out of building several years ago. Looking to start back! I was always a Gudebrod user. For those out there who were the same, what thread have you found to be the best replacement?

I've never done any marbling. Read up here on it some. Could the "false eye" patterns (say an irregular black spot surrounded by a metallic gold border) on a red drums tail be done with pseudo mottling. Would want to do it over copper metallic thread. Wasn't sure if the gold and black spots would run or blend too much.

I haven't been on this board or built any rods in quite a while. Just kind of burned out on it I guess! Looking to transition back into building some as I miss it! This board was always a fantastic source of help and guidance for me when I was active....thanks too many of you here, as I recognize some of the same names still here that were a big help to me!
I remember reading lots here when I
