Is it a big no no or do people do it all the time. Are the feet on a fly reel just to small or narrow for them? Curious is all.
Thanks in advance

Saw a good thread about this and yes it won’t be for trolling so maybe for now I will go with conventional. If I start to troll I might make a spiral down the road. Thanks everyone for your time in responding

Get a iwata airbrush top feed HP-C and look on createx paint for their textile opaques or autoborne. A couple drops of base coat and a couple drops of paint then clear or laquer.

your butt diameter on the St Croix is basically double that of the Rod Geeks. Its .420 with a weight of 1.9oz for RG compared to .735 butt diameter with wt of 3.0 oz. I have been looking for what grip you would use for the st croix as that would be alot of reaming

if you have a airbrush use createx Wicked line or their autobourn and auto air colors. You can pick them up at Hobby Lobby and are water based. Still use a respirator and clear with Spraymax. You can even use a silver base and hit with wicked candies 2.0 to tint your your rod any color then clear. You do not have to wait a long period of time between paint and clear either

coat it and mask off then hit with a quick spray of dull laquer. I do this for top coats when I paint and it dulls it all the way down. Testors top coat dull is the best i found
