I'm doing my first real build this winter and I just got all my components in yesterday. I bought a MHX Mag Bass 6'6" rod, split casting grips, and I figured since I was gonna build it my self might as well try out the micro guides Ive been hearing so much about, so I got the Fuji Micro Guide 10 pc set (6mm stripper, 5mm transition, and 4mm runners). After seeing just how small these are an

I just broke the tip of one of my rods while fishing. I was wondering if I could cut the broke section off and just add a tip top and still use the rod. I understand that it may change the action of the rod and the power, but how much would it change? Right now it is a 6'9" medium heavy rod. Im thinking I will cut right below the second guide from the top, so only a few inches.

I have just finished the diamond wrap im putting on my first rod, however, i have no idea how to tie it off. any help at all would be great. I tried to do a wrap like you would on a guide but i couldnt get it to work very well. It may have been because i am so tired so i will try again tomorrow and see what happens thanks for your time

I am starting my first custom rod, and im wanting to do a simple diamond wrap above the foregrip. my question is, do i need to put the handle on first or can i start with the diamond wrap? i guess the reason for this question is i want to start the diamond wrap under the fore grip to make sure there is no gap between the foregrip and the start of the wrap, or would that interfere with putting the

Is it possible to paint a blank and have it turn out nice, and if so what kind of paint would I need? Would I need to do any prep work on the blank? How would you seal it? Any information would be very helpful. Thank you

I have found an old 18 volt cordless drill that i no longer use. I took it apart so that the whole casing and trigger are off the motor. Not sure what to do from here. I tried to find a 9 volt battery laying around and only found a dead one. I feel like the 18 volt battery would be to fast, but I cant think of anything else to use as a power supply.

So I've built a small rod wrapping station. I am looking for a way to power it. I have found an old corded drill that I plan to use to turn the rod. The issue I'm running into is how can I hold the rod without messing up the grip. If anyone has any ideas of a cheap or free way for me to fix this, or knows where I can find more information about this it would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

I am tearing down an old ugly stik I had laying around so I can change the eyes and practice wrapping a little bit. I was hoping to remove the old grips while I was at it and just try to start over with this rod. I tried a quick search on here for removing old grips but found nothing. If someone could help me, it would be very helpful. Thank you

I just found out about custom rod building, and I have a few questions about how to get started. The first question I have is there any advice you would give to a person building their own rod wrapper? I am more concerned with making a power wrapper/dryer. What kind of motor should I use for each? Is there a way to use one motor for both purposes? Next I was wondering if it were possible to
