I ordered in on @#$%&. There is black wire as well. Search Nitinol wire. Seems pretty strait forward to make the same type of guides. There are Youtube videos on how to form the wire. My goal was to be able to purchase the parts from an american made company. Not produce all the parts myself. PS RECs Patent for using the wire for guides is rock solid hats off to them on that one.

I build bass and walleye rods. I ordered some NI titanium wire already to try and make some guides. I did see recoil is american made but way out of my price range. This covid stay at home has me stir crazy!!

Are there any known american made guides and reelseat manufactures. I plan to build a 100% amercian rod while off work on vacation the next few weeks. I thought American Tackle was American made and just found out their not. Yes I know there are good products from all over the world. I just feel its wrong to use my stimulus money buying stuff from anywhere other than the United States

Keep in mind the blanks strongest state is with the cello wrap ridges left as is.They leave them on purpose not to save money. It literally takes them 5 seconds to sand a blank on their centerless grinder

Baseball players cant bc there are very stringent rules their bats have to conform to but what they do is flex into the barrel rather than flex like our rods or hockey sticks. They are regulated on how much the barrel can flex inward like a dent and many bats are outlawed for play in softball and college baseball. MLB baseball is regulated to a wood bat bc its not able to transfer energy like a a

1. 1/8oz vs 1/2oz has to do with the energy and laws of inertia. 2. The flex of any "arm" weather is a fishing rod, Hockey stick, Bow limb ect adds to the arms tip speed which in turn accelerates the object fast than with a rigid arm. Finding the perfect loaded flex is the key. Professional Hockey players test and have sticks built to their specs. The specs are specific to their str

Most libraries now have 3D printers and even classes on using them. A pulley would be easy to design and print.

I personally troll walleye and salmon about 99% of my fishing time at this point in life. I dont bother build an custom rods for it bc I see no reason. The length and power are the only real requirements. Boat size also plays a part. My little 16 footer needs shorter rods than my 23 footer. I myself dont like anything over 7'6" no matter if its a dipsey rod, Lead core or onmy down rigger

Im not sure what your end results were being used for but I would think the number are what they are mainly due to time on the market. That Pac Bay and Renzetti have been around forever.

Sorry Roger I agree with Ron. It litterally takes about 5 minutes to add an item picture to a web site. I prefer a clear detailed picture and Im not going to go on a google easter egg hunt to see it. I used to order a fair amount from you years ago but that was when web sites were all pretty basic. I think your losing an enormous amount of sales with a basic and honestly kind of confusing ecommer

I know I ordered flo green camo and a block of straight flo green. The straight flo green is rubbery and fairly durable. The flo camo is gritty and not durable. wears and rubs away easily. Maybe the same density but not the same feel or durability

Im sure this has been covered previously but i'm not finding it in the search. I know what power and speed are and how they are listed. But what criteria does each company use to determine if a blank is say med or med heavy ect. is there a certain deflection percentage with a given weight like archery arrows have on a spine tester? or is it however they feel like calling it

I enjoy learning and seeing how things are made and how things work. There are videos all over of rod blanks being made but I have not been able to find anything on how guides are made. Seems there are very few companies in the world that make them so it must be difficult. Can anyone share any experience with the rest of us on how they do it?

I like them for trolling both walleye and salmon. It helps keep the reel upright rather than wanting to roll over in the rod holders. Its annoying getting a large salmon on and you pull the rod out and have to roll it over. Then the line wraps the tip as you roll it over. Bang there goes the fish and about $100 worth of dipsey, flasher, swivels, spoon ect
