Know a guy about to go to Okinawa for three years. What would be a good transportable general rod for fishing from the shore. I understand it’s often volcanic rock cliffs, sometimes climbing down to the water. Rod will be built spinning.

Just spoke with a really nice lady at Lami. As I figured, they don't have replacement parts any more.

I let a buddy borrow my Lami PSB 1202M surf rod and his van door ate it. The blank is probably 20 years old but I really liked it. Any chance of finding a replacement tip section?
I'm willing to attempt a repair but I don't see how it would work given it is now in three pieces.

Installing my first Winn grip: will it stretch as much as EVA, or do I need to ream it until it fits in place?

The specs on these look similar. I like the dark blue of the Revelation surf blanks, but can somebody compare/contrast the two for me? I notice the REVSU80M is a bit lighter in weight and lure rating.

Will be spinning with 4500 Penn Spinfisher. I normally use the KL-H guides but I want a little more durability. Line will be 20-30lb braid. What train would you use for the KW guides?

I want a gold hood on an Aero seat. Will another brand work so long as it’s the same diameter?

Looking for small, like 1 to 1.5”, that would work on an inshore rod. I think Mudhole used to have but not anymore.

Looking to build a Rainshadow REVSU90M for my birthday. 9 foot, rated 1-4 oz, built spinning. Questions:
Heaviest line would be 20lb braid with 40lb leader - what size running guides?
Reduction train - I want to use Fuji CC guides.
Is the KL-H strong enough?
Would you start out 25 to 12, or 20 to 10?
Thx all

What is the modern equivalent or closest thing to it in the Rainshadow lineup?

Will probably use for 3/8 oz mirrodines for seatrout and small tubes & senkos in rivers for spotted bass. I have a SC 5S66mlf that I love; so am looking for something a smidge heavier. I currently use a HM MHX MB812xf for the mirrodines, but I fish from the bank and would like a shorter rod. I am also assuming the HM MHX I have would be similar to the 5s68mxf. I have even thought about the 59

The price difference is $90. Will I be able to tell a difference? Has anybody used both?

David - I was asking about the 76MH, not the 76H. The latter is clearly a much heavier blank. I think the difference between the 72MH and 76MH is less in terms of weight.

Norman, just curious - are you basing that on the specs or have you handled both blanks?

Is there any difference other than the 4 inches of length? The butt on the 72MH is listed as slightly larger; both list a size 6 tip top on the Rainshadow site.

Spencer, not trying to parse the sentence, but wanted to make sure I understand the two negatives there. Are you saying that everybody who use the 7ft version said it was still manageable? Or did it wear them all out?

What would be a good blank for jerkbaits in the 1.5 to 2 ounce range?

7'6" is useful when i'm fishing from the bank, which I do quite often. Admittedly it makes it more difficult to work the lures.

Here is my dilemma. I have gotten into more and more inshore fishing in recent years, specifically targeting seatrout but also flounder and redfish. I fish a lot of jerk baits and topwater in the 5/8 oz to 2 oz range. The fishing is very energetic so I don't want too heavy a blank. The L904 looks like I could make it work; thing is, I would really love a metallic blue blank. I know the MB904 is r

21. MHX L904 vs L905
Will use this to throw anything from 5/8 oz topwater to 1-1/2 oz Rapalas. Which would you pick? Is the 904 heavy enough?

Thanks Tom. I forgot to ask, how far would you put the first guide from the tip?

I am building this spinning, KR Concept Micro. Choke guide is 23.5 from the tip. Given how fast the blank is, do you think I would be better with 6 running guides (that includes the choke guide) or seven? If I use 6 spacing will be 3 - 3 1/8 - 3 5/8 - 4 - 4.5 - 5. If I use 7 guides they start out at 3 and don't go above 3 3/4", which sounds awfully close to me.

I notice the XF is a heavier blank but rated for lighter line and lure weights. Can anybody give me a feel for when you would pick one over the other?

I am thinking jerkbaits, topwater and unweighted sinkos. X-Raps, Mirrolures and Skitterwalks would be in 3/8 to 5/8 range. Built spinning. What is the comparison b/t MB813xf and SB812?

Will be working Skitter Raps, X-Raps and Mirrodines in the 3/8 to 5/8 ounce range. Will the 2 power be enough or do I need the 3? Rod will be built spinning.

Thinking X-Raps and Mirrodines for sea trout & flounder. Is this blank new? I just noticed it.
