Hi All, What is the power of the the mhx p842-2 similar to? I'm familiar with st croix and batson rods but I've never built on an mhx blank. I've seen the power of the sj9000 compared to the st croix 4s76mlxf. Reviews of the sj8600/9000 say it has tons of power in the butt, the p842 is often referenced as a finesse rod? From what I've read I assume the P842 its slightly lighter than a ml st cr

Thank you for the installation guide. Is it possible to use the PTS seat without the carbon sleeve? It looks like St Croix is using the seat without any sleeve on their Legend Elite series of rods. Is this a special part just for St Croix? I'd like to build with a blank exposed PTS seat if possible!

I've done 3 builds using the Fuji K series guides, 2 sets in titanium and one with stainless steel all using alconite rings. I was looking through the PacBay catalogue and saw that they have just come out with titanium match guides with zirconia rings. They have had available TiCh framed match guides with sic rings. Both of these guides caught my attention as to possible alternatives to fuji K's.

Hi, Has anyone built or fished on the St Croix 5S610MXF-B blank? St Croix lists its use for shaky head fishing. I'm wondering how it will work for fishing plastics and drop shotting. thanks, Mike
