I have removed epoxy with alcohol and thread. I dab a Q-Tip with alcohol on the epoxy then put alcohol on the thread then spin the rod on my wrapper and use the thread to cut of the epoxy, I found that size e thread works better that A or D and no ncp thread. You use a few pieces of thread as they get clogged up with the epoxy ,

I had some rods on the dryers, and one had a lot of bubbles in the finish I sprayed it with alcohol and did it release all the bubble fast. I checked the drying time, and it dried the same as the others. I know that they use to sell a bubble buster spray but never tried it. i have used heat gun hot air though a straw.

I got a bottle of hardener that i think was not made right that epoxy when mixed smelled my house up and did not set for hours and took for days to fully cure. The color of it was pale compared to other bottles that where amber in color. I did experiments of 50% of the pale to 50% of the amber hardener to 100 % resin. from both kits of finish and both worked well and did not smell up my house. (w

I have a rod i use a lot that has been stuck together since June 2021 when i made a post about ferrule wax. I tried to get it apart many times since then with no luck it's carbon to carbon ferrule. The other day I put a couple drops of KROIL on it and let it sit for a couple hours. I was able to pull it apart. I cleaned up both parts with alcohol and tried to put it back together and was met with

Kendall the reason is they are going to fish the harbor refuge wall at the mouth of the Delaware bay they suspend the boat with a toggle line in the wall and a anchor out in the sand they move the boat around to find a hole that the tog are hiding in .and must be able to get them out before they get back into a hole . That is why a short stiff pole is what this captain wants.

I just put the first guide to 0 on a rod i use to jig for flounder as i noticed ithe line was l stacking to the side after doing it the line would go to center of the reel. I don't know why it did it with this rod. My other rods are offset about 10 degrees and no problems. I love a spiral wrapped rod.

I built my friend that goes fishing with me a spiral wrap on a lamiglas blank that he had a factory rod with the same blank the reel on the spiral broke and he had to go to the factory rod for back up and said what a difference he just had me spiral the factory rod i don't know how to change someone's mind but you could always change it back to conventional wrap if he doesn.t like it

I have coated rods the entire blank with rod finishes that i also add powder pigment to what i did was put it on about a 30-degree angle on my dryer and as it turned i coated then took a heat gun and let the excess run down off the rod to end up with a thin coat. This is why it's called custom rod building.

I fix a lot of rods i found out that the people that use a ugly stix don't care or know what tip is replacing their tip all they know is that it is fixed. when i build a custom rod i order extra guides in case i need more after static testing and tips around the tip size the blank says it is blank 10/64 i would order 9/64,10/64 and 11/64 and slowly build up stock. I also got guides and tips from
