&lt;p&gt;This is the setup I use for shaping my cork handles.&amp;nbsp; I made a jig to hold the shopvac attachment where it can suck up shavings and dust as it's created.&amp;nbsp; I like to rough shape with a Microplane rasp.&amp;nbsp; I like drywall sanding screen instead of sandpaper.&amp;nbsp; A simple steel rod functions as a mandrel.&amp;nbsp; Notice I wrap tape

At a fishing expo I saw rodbuilders using double-foot Minima guides on musky rods and they say it works really well. So I'm planning a MHF musky rod using #6 double-foot minimas as runners.
