If either end of the crack is exposed I would drill a small hole at the end to prevent any traveling from shock.

If the cork is already on the rod I would put a little saran wrap around the cork first and then tape on with stretchy electrical tape. I learned this the hard way when I went to change reels on my first Tennessee handle rod thinking I had sealed the cork with sealer. It got ugly when I took the tape off. Roger (above) said to tape Tennessee handles before attaching reels (duh!) and I am a h

I handle bubbles the same way both on my rod or after mixing and pouring on foil covered plate. I use a small red bar straw and gently blow them bubbles away. On my rod I do this before applying light heat to the epoxy just to get it to flow into the threads.

For the small running guides I also tape above the guide (towards the tip) to stop them from sliding out from what is originally holding them in place. I am not actually taping the guide but putting on a stop collar.

Tom Kirkman's book provided me with a great foundation for knowledge on rodbuilding, which I was able to apply with great success. After building a few rods using the information I had learned, I purchased Dale Clemen's Adv. Custom Rod Building 2008/13, and found it to be a good followup to expand on my knowledge of the more advanced techniques members of this forum often discuss. This book also

I might be wrong here but couldn't you just wrap a piece of tape around it and cut it like you would for measuring for snake skin. Then measure tape length in mm's. Now divide by Pi. (3.14159265359) I don't work with number anymore so hopefully someone will chip in on that.

It has nothing to do with rod building. It's about medical stuff that must have been posted in error. Use Google Chrome if you want it translated for you.

I think you are in the wrong forum. Based on what I read you need a good shoe repair man to handle any fairly long one. It would not matter is if you do a moderately lite or lightly heavy horizontal jig as long as you are Irish. I am sure he can match a replacement soul without being a heel about it. He would have a good eye & let you have that little roundy part you need. The holder nea

I used to use a lot of DNA & Kerosene to clean equipment/hands many years ago. After a local business I knew blew up from DNA fumes in their shop, I became very paranoid because of my own lackadaisical (ignorant) practices to the opposite extreme. So I use a small cup of white vinegar to stop the chemical reaction and then later clean my brush with DNA & Dawn Soap by the sink and air d

Are you pulling the reamer out on a very regular pace to let the cork dust out? Also maybe apply less inward pressure. Last do you let the cork spin 90 degrees with the reamer every so often to help insure it does not travel off center?

Still confused! I hope this helps. I may be confused myself but it was my understanding Fuji uses "RDA" measurements and Jim Ising went out of his way to give us the more accepted "

I also add tape behind the guide. Sort of like a backstop for the micro guides. I leave it on once happy as a marker for guide placement and help prevent the guide moving back while wrapping the micro's.

If your father already has a similar spinning rod I would measure the distance from the reel stem to bottom and he won't notice nuttin. If he likes working a lure with his rod perpendicular to the ground then measure from middle of palm to about two inches short of his bent elbow.

Since I only build for myself I am still a newbie when it comes to experience so time consuming ways are not a problem for me. I am sure some will get a good chuckle out of this. I use two revolutions of 1/2" masking tape that has been applied to my shirt/pants a few times to make it like a post-it. This is where I want to start my wrap for five to ten revolutions before placing my gui
