@ Michael Yep....my thoughts the same. If creating a logo for your rod that would be good ordering from them Get same logo all in one sheet. But for rod specs....no. It can get expensive. @ Dean Thanks for your great feedback......greatly appreciated!!!!! @ Phil I think only for logos or your rod brand would be more suitable at Decal Connections. Thanks everyone!!!!

@ Michael Danek Thanks for the heads up. I will stay away from ink jet printers. I guess those photo wraps will be faded away long term? @ Daniel Grundvig & Michael Ward Would Epson 400 be good enough only to to print labei as in specs of rod? No image printing. Or should I bite the bullet and get the 800 series? Thanks Trung

Hello All Im looking into making my own label. What printer are you guys using these days? I was looking at LTR website seeing Epson 400 and 800 size. Would 400 be enough to print label? Also I do see some rods have photo wrap on them. What printer would be good for this application? Thanks Trung

@ Pat I thought about the saltwater series but looking for models that have smaller butt diameter and less blank weight. @Spencer The ones here in North Cali are white sturgeon. Occasionally you get greens . @Robert CTS model you mentioned doesn't come in 8 foot blank Thanks Everyone

Thanks Tom Roger, I use the round bars that was supplied for the Taig chuck. I tight them pretty tight but still slips. Tom is correct, I would need a shoulder stop. Is the reason why I just purchased the drill stops. But in the end I would feel safer if purchased a Penn State collet sets or a Nova G3 which is a key to use to tighten up .

Jonathan I have purchased the drill stop sets. Should arrive next week or so. The issue happen to me three times to the point I'm very paranoid using the lathe. So scary when the mandrel get loose at high speed. So basically I'm gonna either purchase the Penn State collet sets or the Nova G3. I am convinced I will not use the Taig chuck anymore. Thanks Everyone for all the great

Thanks Roger Very nice lathe you got there. Tom, Yes, the chuck I have on the wood lathe is the Taig- 3 Jaw same as my Renzetti lathe. I have order the mandrel collar set. Hope that will solve the issue. Anyone know the model number for Nova G3 chuck? Do I need to get an adapter for it?

I just purchased a set of mandrel collars. Thanks Jay!!!! To my understanding , I put the mandrel collar against the headstock chuck to prevent the mandrel from slipping? Is this what Tom is referring about, Shoulder stop? Thanks Everyone. Greatly Appreciated. Hopefully I can feel confident now going forward with the lathe

Tom I got the mandrel from mudhole which have the center bore 60 degree on both ends. On my tail stock I have the live center install. So chuck up the mandrel and push tail stock against the other end. The mandrel still come loose. When I checked the chuck it is not right as previous which tells me chuck is at fault. It's kinda like wrapping a rod and sometimes the rod comes out of the chuck.

Hello All Rod Builders I recently got back into building rods again. I was using my Turncrafter Pro#TCLPRO sanding down eva grip then suddenly my mandrel got loose from the chuck at high speed. Luckily I acted fast and turn it off. Try it a second and third time ,same issue. Soo dangerous. The chuck I have on the lathe is the same kind Renzetti uses on there power wrapper. Not a good chuck f

Thanks Everyone I do have some blue masking tape but Im looking for more sticky to make bushing for reel seat install. I do have regular masking tape that bought from home depot that is 3M but its not sticky at all. Maybe they are basic. I use to have some very sticky masking tape but ran out of them and forgot what type it was.

Thanks Roger It all make sense now. I thought you can only have a chuck screw in type on the headstock but now I know you can use both sides for the same tool. Yes I am searching for a new chuck. What would you recommend? I would be turning eva on a mandrel for now but will get into custom eva blocks down the road. thanks

Tom Yes you are correct, the mandrel tends to dig deeper into headstock side when the chuck gets loose. Very scary. I have tried doing the taping method but my chuck still gets loose and the mandrel will wobble. What are your recommendations? I was hoping theirs a better chuck then the one I have. The chuck I am using is the same we use on our power wrapper Renzetti or Alps. thanks

Roger Yes its almost the same lathe minus the variable speed. Mine is the basic one. For the headstock can I mount the jacobs live center or is that only for the tail stock side? The chuck I have on the headstock is like the one we use on our power wrapper. The chuck doesn't hold well and tends to get loose during process which is very scary. What is a good chuck for the headstock that wil

Hello rod builders I had a very scary experience last night. I was turning eva grip on a mandrel for the first time and during the process the mandrel pop out on one end. Nearly took my hands off. Luckily I turn off just in time without injuries but my mandrel is bent on one end. I have the regular jaw that we use on the Renzetti lathe on the headstock and a live center on the tail stock. No

Hi Everybody, Im looking for 6 or 6'6ft blank for rock cod fishing in Bay Area. Looking for the smallest butt diameter possible and I will be using 5 to 6oz weight only.I will be fishing around 50ft or less and using squid as bait from a boat. My plan is to build the lightest rod as possible since I will be jigging all day. This will be a casting set up. I have look into the Batson line up, b
