I would use a thread wrap finish specific to rod building...Flexcoat, ProKote or Permagloss....I'm sure the Klass Kote is good for the rod finish...These products can be purchased from the sponsors listed on the left...

Many of the sponsors on this site have rod blanks for a reasonable price...look at the specials or bargain bin...buy several at a time...save on shipping cost for just one blank...This way you can build the rod and if something does not go the way you planned you don't have a ton of money invested... I use a 6' 6" to 7' fast action medium power for drop shot...Good Luck...

The wood mid-piece was a little higher than the trigger so I sanded the wood down even with the trigger piece...It's a 7 foot worm rod for bass fishing...Don't know what reel he is going to use...should be a low profile bait-caster...I will keep working on it trying to get a better fit...Thanks for your help...

I hope it's not on backwards...It's a casting rod with trigger...the knurled part of the nut is away from the reel towards the tip...I have not installed the guides yet but I have installed a fore-grip...Looks like there is a little more room under that knurled part of the nut? Which way would the nut need to be installed?

Interesting story Boyd Duckett announced that he will produce rods with micro guides. He stated that we developed these rods by getting a lot of input from custom rod builders who know what they're doing.

Anyone know where you could purchase a reel seat similar to the ones Daiwa uses on their S series and lite & tough rods. I also need the rear cork with the hump in it right behind the reel seat. THANKS for any help.

when you flip you pull line from the front of the reel out to one side...it's a set amount of line every time...like bill said you don't cast...even if you did want to cast the guide being that far from the reel is ok...the purpose of a telescoping rod is so that you can store the rod in a rod locker in a boat...the butt guide should not hit the butt section when the rod is retracted...some

the guides will not go down into the butt section...slide the top piece which should be the longest piece through the butt section...put a piece of tape on the butt section to hold the top piece into place...you should locate your first guide on the top section somewhere in this location...with the top section retracted so that the guide does not hit the butt section and the top section wil
