Nashville Conclave a review

I was most pleased by the show! Lots of good information, new ideas, and a gathering of some very talented folks, and I don't just mean the instructers. As a new person to the building of custom rods I was most impressed by the quality of information from everyone. And the chance to speak with many of the "founding fathers" of the rod business is not duplicated in any other craft or business that I know of. I have attended hundreds of shows and industry events related to my profession, none were of the unique nature of this event. If you missed it try and make it next year and I assure you it is worth the trip!

You won't see any local shows of this caliber held any time soon. (There are some local events that are well worth attending however.) The nature and size of our craft really limits this kind of industry participation to just one, maybe two shows per year.

I have no idea where it will be held next year. There is always talk that it may move to one coast or the other, but a decision probably won't be forthcoming for several months.

In the meantime, check to see what seminars Rodcrafters may have near you or the event that Buzz Butters is getting together. He has posted on it here within the last week or so.

Tom,
You're right, there will only be one Conclave like the annual national gathering, but in our business session on Sunday morning, a committee was appointed to oversee the development of regional shows and classes. One area specifically mentioned was Michigan. I'm sorry, but I don't remember any more details. Might ask about this over on the Guild board.
