I've read all the history on this board about labels and am still confused. It seems everyone has an oppinion on how to do it themselves. If i go to a local print shop(my mother-in-laws best friend owns) what do i need to ask for. What should i get? What type of paper or film and brand of ink? Jim Reed

Your local print shop might be handy, but they probably have little experience in this area. The fellow at Decal Connection will know exactly what you are looking for. There is also a fellow named John Knight in Tennessee (reach him via Custom Tackle Supply) who makes beautiful decals. He sent me some samples recently and they had my signature on them, which he had pulled off the editor's page in the magazine. Very nice decals.

In the long run you might be better off trying those guys who have some experience in making decals for specific use on fishing rods. They've already made all the usual mistakes and have refined their process to deliver decals that will work and look good on the rods.
