Tom, you dropped a hint on New Year's day about this, any more you can tell us at this time? Curious minds want to know. Re: new and revolutionairy guide number and placement system

Not really. There are still some things that we know works, but we don't know exactly why. I'd prefer to have some time to mull these things over and try them on some different rods before I state that this is the way you need to it. I feel pretty sure that when we do write the article that most will say it is guide placement blasphemy. I also feel like it could be the way everyone will be placing their guides 10 years from now. But, then again, I'm not sure yet. In the meantime, things are getting better and faster. Don Morton's system surely gives you good placement, even taking into account the action of each blank. And it only takes minutes to set a rod up with it. The New Guide Concept system I wrote about in the July/August 2000 issue is really pretty easy to do and works so well. (I have simplified it even more and will have the info and photos in the next issue.) But, there may be an even easier way to do all this. Rich Forhan is working on it and he and I are sure to have many discussions on it in the coming weeks. Until then, I prefer not to hand you something that may not work like we think it does. Just need a bit more time to see how it works on more rods and under more conditions. ............ Re: new and revolutionairy guide number and placement system

Tom, Could you at least tell us if it's a system for conventional or spinning rods, or both?? TH Re: new and revolutionairy guide number and placement system

Both. Although spinning rods would still require proper ring and frame height sizing for it to work. ................... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
