Perigee Coloration

I just received two PLB902M blanks (2 pcs). I looked at both blanks and noted that the tip half had significantly less (almost no) gold flakes while the bottom half has a lot more. Is this typical of Perigee blanks?

Not on the ones I have. If it's something you don't think you can live with I'd contact Lamiglas for a replacement that is painted closer to the butt section. Lamiglas has been a good friend to the customer builders for as long or longer than anyone else and I am sure they will get you taken care of.

I assume the paint on these is applied in a two-step process with the gold flake going on last. I'm not really sure.
