I have gotten some emails asking why the moderators don't use their real names. It is because I have asked them not to do so. They are the only ones with this priviledge and it is for a good reason.

4 helpful gentlemen work with me in moderating this board. We typically have someone looking in 24 hours per day. Most of these fellows are known to many in the rod building community and when they have to make a tough decision or remove a post, I do not want them having to deal with the fallout that often comes from disgruntled people. I would rather the garbage fall on me and I can handle it from there.

This puts my moderators in the position of being able to do their jobs without incurring the wrath of many who might even be their friends.

So if you were wondering, that's the reason. Thanks.

Tom Kirkman

Tom, I am a subscriber to RodMaker and a frequent visitor to this board. I just started building rods last year and have found both the magazine and the board to be fantastic sources of information. Your moderators do an outstanding job of policing the board (unlike some other boards) and they should be commended. For what it's worth, I agree 100% with your policy of anonymity for them.

Tom,
You mean to tell me that someone was actually whinning about the moderators not using their name? I'll bet that those same people also got ticked off at Christmas because someone got one more present than they did. How childish can these people be? The board is great and what ever choice you make in how it will be ran is fine with me. I'm gonna post and read no whether I have to register or not. You and the moderaotrs are doing a fine job!

Thanks,
Steve
