1) just got my new 2002 package from fuji. I was reading about the concept guides and everything they said sounds pretty good, although there is one thing i don't understand!. they say that the rings are smaller than normal, and you should put more eyes per pole, at the same time they also say that you can cast farther. three foot farther was the largest distance/ average. im not that worried about three foot, but i had the understanding that with a smaller eye and more of them that friction would come into play. is the ring itself so much smoother that it allows the line to pass through with less than normal friction? 2) how much smaller are these rings versus one of the same size? #16 and 8for example. There is so much more to this thing than the tiny bit of increased friction. Any reduction of weight that the rod must carry will have a greater overall positive effect on casting and efficiency. Even with more guides, the smaller sizes and lighter weight create a more efficient tool. Friction through the guides on an unloaded line is minimal. I am going to email you something that will give you the ins and outs. It's very long but will explain the overall compromise we must seek in order to have fishing rod that performs all the various tasks that we need it to. .......................... Re: fuji concept
