Hi, Has anyone tried the Thorne borthers Ice Rod blanks? What did you think of them? They have a $9 blank and a $26 blank the $26 dollar one is solid graphit then other is hollow, what difference will this make for an Ice Rod? Thanx PO Re: Thorne Brothers Ice Rods

man 26 bucks for an ice rod blank sounds pretty steep to me! check with some of the sponsors, they will set you up. a solid blank will be much more durable if you throw it around on the back of a snowmobile or something, also a different action, it really depends what you are looking for. Thorne ice rods were once made from Sage fly rod tip sections. I don't know if this is the case now. Cabelas has similar rod tip sections for fly rod blanks for $5 a piece. Re: Thorne Brothers Ice Rods
