In the book, Rod Building Guide, I suggested making a double overwrap when making your tie-off wrap to eliminate any gaps or bleed through from the tied off threads. Done as I suggested, no one will ever know it is not a single wrap.

After you get the first few winds of your tie-off wrap in place and have begun cutting your threads, do not cut them all at once. Cut a few on this turn, and a few more on the next, and so on and so forth. This will help eliminate any sudden bulge or hump under the tie-off wrap. It also is helpful to spread and flatten the end of each of the cut threads.

I usually wrapp over top also to add the Hook Keeper.. Also if your not adding a Hoo Keeper I just do a single wrapp I comb all threads out then I just wrap all the way to in front of grip an cut all ends as close as possible to grip, then the winding check will cover where you end.. Thanks Dave
