crooked rods?

I've only made 5 or 6 rods to date and admittedly am using cheaper rods and the "specials" from mudhole. So far the action on the rods has been good but I've noticed that all but one of these rods is a little crooked mostly toward the tip. If I ignored the back bone I could easily hide it but don't want to do that. Do most rods have this or is it just the cheaper one's I've been buying? Any suggestions on less expensive blanks that are straight. Thanks

Ask anyone who has plunked down $300 for a first quality high end fly rod blank lately - many will tell you that their blanks were crooked too.

A slight overall bend or curvature in the rod is of no consequence in the grand scheme of things. A perfectly straight rod blank is a luxury, although nice to have when you can find one.

You well always find a crooded tip or two on most blanks. even the 300 pluse ones will sometime have a slight bend. Sometime this well disappear after the rod is wraped. I would be more concerned if the spine is in the correct position
Good luck Bob
