Why do some cork handles come with a recess on both ends and others have a recess only at the butt to accept the butt cap? How would each be used and how does a beginner know when to buy which? This is something I have not seen addressed in books. Thanks Mike Re: Cork handle......which type?

I am just guessing but think one recess is made to fit into one end of a reel seat. I can't imagine what else it would be for. Re: Cork handle......which type?

Correct me if I am wrong anybody...I believe the ones that that are recessed on both ends are made for a butt cap and common trigger reel seats. For example fuji ECS reel seats fit nicely. However, reel seats without triggers (spinning rods, etc) wouldn't use a recessed end. Hope this helps some and didn't confuse anyone. That would make sense

Thanks Jason. The grips I looked at didn't say spinning or casting on them so I didn't know which one was for what. I appreciate the answer. Mike Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
