Rodbuilding classes in my area?

Does anyone here know if there are any rodbuilding classes in the San Francisco Bay Area? I know many of you will say that I should come to the Conclave but that isn't an option considering the distance and cost involved. I'm sure I can learn on my own from books, input from this forum, and the internet but hands-on is the way to go to learn quickly and correctly.

Thanks

Mike

Stop by the Rod Rack (see sponsor bar) in Hayward and talk to Steve Volkers. He's been talking about classes and you can learn a lot by just watching him work.

Thanks Steve.
I bought my Flex Coat hand wrapper and some supplies to get started from Steve last week but I wasn't aware of him letting anyone watch him work in that back room. He always seems so busy in there with the long-range fishermen that I don't know where he gets time to teach anyone.
