Today (Thursday Thanksgiving) after getting off work at 7AM I finish a two piece rod that I had been working on. One of the blanks I had order came in broke so I used it to make my first two piece rod. I made it into a 6ft spinning with basic guides. I didn't want to put too much money into because I didn't know how it would come out. After finish the rod it was time for me to get to bed had to work that night also. Got up to have dinner with my faimly which I am very thankful and they walk down the to lake to try out the rod. I live on a lake but our water is very low and I only had about a foot of water at my dock so I tie on a top water bait. I just want to see how the rod work. On my first cast I caught a 3 1/2 lb Largemouth Bass on top water. The rod work great. I maked a second cast and caught a 2lb bass aslo. The wife said give me the rod, well it was time for me to got to work anyway.

I was fortunate enough to catch some fish today as well, although not quite as good a story as yours. Small Striped Bass on Thanksgiving - gotta love it!!!
