Bent tip

I have a blank that has a curved tip. I don't know if i should try to spine it, Put the guides on with the curve of the tip facing up or put the guides on with the curve of the tip facing down. Thanks for your help it is always appreciated. Rick Re: Bent tip

Most people spine it and just diregard any curve in the tip. Unless it is very, very bad, you won't notice any real effect from it. If it gets in your head and you don't think you can fish it without being bothered I'd check with your dealer for a replacement. Unless you bought it as a second or blem you'll probably get a replacement. Just remember that a truly straight rod blank is not very common. Re: Bent tip

Check with your dealer before returning a blank. I found out that they often have to send the defective blank back to the factory for a replacement and it might be faster for you to send it direct to the factory. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
