height for rod drier

Hey guy's,my parts have started coming in for my first rod drier.I have a dc motor and speed control.Drier be used to apply then dry the epoxy.What is a good hieght for the rod to be above bench?would like to be as compact as can be but still be able to work comfortably.Cheers Re: height for rod drier

I agree with Matthew on this one.
I learned from folks who used 5 inches to the center of the rod, and I have continued the tradition with making all of my rod supports so that the rod center is 5 inches from the base of the wrapper or dryer. Good luck Re: height for rod drier

It doesn't.
But the correct altitude does make the application easier. I use the same rod rests for my rods when either wrapping or drying so they are the same height. After doing some experimenting, I found that 5 inches is a nice compromise to be able to nicely see the rod when working as well as when wrapping guides for arm comfort and ease of use.
