Consider the Rainshadow 4 pc blanks. They perform great and travel nicely. I'm making two right now and have made several in the past. Re: Fiberglass pack rod blank?

First choice, CTS Quartz, I have a 705-3 of theirs. Another option, Contact Mike McFarland, he can roll that blank in either S2 or E glass.
If you want to see a CTS Quartz, I live about 40 miles from you, near Saratoga Springs. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/15/2018 12:31PM by Bill Hickey. Re: Fiberglass pack rod blank?

Slow action fiberglass blanks are ok for fishing wet flies but not so good for fishing drys. A 7' rod is fine for 30' - 40' casts but not so good for 50' and up. A 7' fiberglass rod is a relatively specialized tool. Re: Fiberglass pack rod blank?

Glass works just fine for dries, as well as streamers. Yes, wets are their hallmark. I am guessing that this rod is meant for small stream streamer fishing. It is a specialized configuration, but it is more popular than you think. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
