It's a long shot I know but I'm trying to track down an old Allstar Austin 10/11wt fly blank to build. I tried to post in the Buy/Sell but couldn't get past the Captcha part. I built a few fly rods on the old Austin and Elite series and really like them, hoping to find one for an upcoming tarpon trip.

You'd have better luck winning the lottery, I think I have a 5 wt. somewhere, I have a PVC tube around somewhere with some fly blanks in it, they are from the Andy Dear era, with a white CTS, and others in the mixed bag.

Hello ANDREW,

I don't have this blank, but i built a lot of spinning rods on ALL STAR AUSTIN(TITANIUM) fly blank for fishing in freshi and salt water.Beautiful rods witch help me to catch a lot of beautiful fish, most of the time on jig or hard lures...I don't know if work for you.
I m fishing just with long (over 10 ' ) spinning rods, amd for thir reason i was buying on new ALL STAR AUSTIN fly rod AF9012-3,,lenght 9' ,line W12,3 pieces from TOM KIRKMAN with $150.
I WAS BUYING THIS ROD IN IDEEA TO CHANGE THE ROD IN SPINNING ROD,but i don't change the rod and still new,AND NOW FOR MEDICAL REASON(I AM 73 YEARS OLD,DISABLE ) FOR 2 YEARS I DON'T FISH ANYMORE.

If you need this rod i can sell to you with the same preice $150.

I live in HOUSTON,TX and my home phone : 281-497-8835.

No doubt among the best blanks made. I have a 2-piece Allstar 8.5' #11 blank; would you be interested in it? Also bought it for tarpon but it's easier for me to travel with 4-piece rods.

Thanks so much for the offers, I guess it just goes to show, you never know what you can find unless you ask. I actually found a 9' 10/11wt just yesterday but it's a 2 piece. I'm still interested in the the 11wt and will follow up. Thanks again!

Joel. I think I have one of those blanks and built it out but have not used it much. my intention was throwing large flies for Northern Pike. What type of lines do you think it's better suited for throwing, Floating, Intermediate or Sinking?
