Silk Thread for Invisable Wrap

I am interested in trying an “invisible wrap”, and would like to know the proper, prescribed silk thread to use and where to purchase it, hopefully of the sponsors to the left. It seems that what I need is Pearsall’s Gossamer white silk. Is that correct?
Thank you for assisting.

Yes you have the thread correct, and you can get it from Anglers Workshop on the left. If you check the library, you will find more information on the process.

Just doing some searching, and it appears that Pearsall’s Gossamer silk is out of production and is quickly becoming unavailable. If you find it, buy it, you may not be able to ever get it again.

Angler's is long gone, my best guess is to try Golden Witch

Gossamer is a 6/0 very fine thread, the 100 you mentioned is closer to our A thread, or 3/0.

Hi Mark,

Pls check our silk thread just launched last week here. [hitenausa.com] We have AAAA (#12/0) and AAA (#8/0) size with White and Natural color. 100% Silk thread developed for rod wrapping. AAAA is just abt 50 denier which is the finest wrapping thread. If you find this will work for you, pls let me know. I'll send you samples.
Thanks.

I have used YLI 100 Natural (3/0) with good results. I would think either of the Hitena silks would work. Use natural as white tends to look blue in the sunlight.

For me YLI is nearly as fine as Gossamer, size A is a lot bigger than YLI size 100..
I use it (as I use Gossamer).

Thanks to all responding. Special thanks to Gabriel of hitenausa for the free sample offer of which I will certainly take advantage. You are to be commended for the way you conduct business! I do not have any experience with “Invisible wraps” so everything will be “shoot-from-the hip” and “ignorance is bliss”.

The Golden Witch, or Hitena USA both have good customer service. Both should have what you are looking for.
