It seems to me that in terms of EVA foam grip material, the brighter colors are softer than the darker colors. I wonder if the color chemical or whatever is added to get the color has something to do with this. Anybody else notice the difference in hardness between the same EVA stock but in lighter versus darker colors?

There is no difference with the EVA blocks I sell. With the EVA I use for my image inlays, it comes in several densities, and they are all consistent regardless of color.

I'm with Billy 100%, the color has nothing to do with it , but there are other densities out there, so you have to look out for that.

Call your favorite supplier and ask him what densities they sell and if they have more than one density in the same colors, bet they won't, but you never know.

I know I ordered flo green camo and a block of straight flo green. The straight flo green is rubbery and fairly durable. The flo camo is gritty and not durable. wears and rubs away easily. Maybe the same density but not the same feel or durability

I expect that EVA comes in various grades and quality, like most other things. I also expect that Billy is selling a very good grade, so. . .

One note - turning EVA under high speed and light pressure will tend to soften it. It doesn't like heat. Always try and turn under good power and heavy pressure. The quicker you cut it the better the end result.
