Im sure this has been covered previously but i'm not finding it in the search. I know what power and speed are and how they are listed. But what criteria does each company use to determine if a blank is say med or med heavy ect. is there a certain deflection percentage with a given weight like archery arrows have on a spine tester? or is it however they feel like calling it Re: Rod power rating?

Terms are subjective. Even when numbers are used they are usually manufacturer specific and not any sort of across the board rating. Only one I know of is the Common Cents ERN figure. Only a couple or three blank makers use it.

A light spinning jig is not the same as a light steelhead or live bait rod blank, either. See you on the water, Doug Captain Paddlefoot Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
