Is the mhx fs905 a good rod for this technique
Or is there another blank that is better from
Mhx or rainshadow or other companies. I fish in the
Midwest and fish lots of pads. And wild rice.

I prefer this blank. hydrafishing.com/product/frog/

The FS905 may be a little too heavy to make long cast with a frog.

If you have any question on the Hydra blank give the guys a call they will explain the blank and make a recommendation.

Put frog rod in the search engine here. I like more moderate rods for frogs.

I have made a few MHX FP885 for people who fish the pads with frogs and they like this blank a lot. It has a tip that will throw a frog very well and enough power to pull a good fish out of the pads. It also will not wear you out throwing it all day. It a very good blank for the money. The FS905 is very similar but is a couple of inches longer so it should be just fine for what you want to do.
