Does anyone have any knowledge on using airbrush to paint the butt and or near the grips on a fishing rod. After watching this guy paint his custom lures I asked myself why not. I understand anything toward the tip has so much flex it could cause problems. Also what type of paint and how to dilute it? Thx Guys

I use an air brush to paint the entire blank then coat it with spray max K2 (2 part urethane in a can). It works great ! I have never had an issue with any cracking. The body of work is is all in the prep!

Thanks Jon, appreciate the info. What type of paint are you using, after watching some videos I think I want to try an acrylic paint so I can change colors by fading them, but i do have some testors enamel. Since that does not dry as fast do you know if I can fade that?

I use Createx Wicked Colors - it’s air brush paint that is used RC cars, motorcycle graphics, etc. So you could definitely fade them.
