PG questions I couldn't find in past posts

I'm working on my 19th and 20th build...the latter being an ultra light rod bought on clearance and built to the minimum for personal use. I posted a question a month ago concerning snake skin and feather inlays, and one of the replies suggested finishing with Perma Glosss. I'm still in the "try everything once" stage of rod building, but am confident enough to test PG on my bare bones ultra light build before putting it on the inlays. My questions are:
How many coats should I expect to apply? Using epoxy, I'd expect 2, maybe 3 Does Madeira (or any other silicone coted thread) repel PG like other epoxies? Any other tips for applying PG that may differ from other epoxies? I've gained confidence in applying other epoxies,,,by no means perfection, but close! Can I expect similar results from PG using the same methods of application? As always, a million thanks for sharing your experience!!! Re: PG questions I couldn't find in past posts

Any finish will be repelled by silicone.
PG is not a high build finish. It is water thin and to build the sort of depth you'd have with most any regular build epoxy is going to take at least a half dozen to a dozen coats. ............. Re: PG questions I couldn't find in past posts

Thanks, Tom! It certainly is nothing like the other epoxies I've used, and I think for the inlays I'll stick to that for the depth, but the PG looks nice on my UL, and it certainly has a place on my shelf.
Thanks again! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
