Abalone with guides

Hello all I'm new to the forum and fairly new to the rod building hobby so please excuse me if I ask dumb questions, I've got a million.

So my latest build is a calstar 970 7' 20-40# using Fuji HB guides I've laid gold abalone under the first 4 guides and really love the look and didnt have any issues with cracking. I would like to keep the theme going to the tip. My old rod builder told me he couldn't do it because it would crack under load...? Is this true? They wouldn't be big stripes just between rod feet and epoxied over

Thank you in advance

It works just fine as a stripe between the guide feet.

Nate, while you can use the HB guides on that rod,I would like to know why. Serious overkill there.

3m adhesive vinegar and warm water.

I love the hb guides well made actually fit the blank nicely high profile. found I can use less when I do deflection tests. Built my first couple rod with fugi SV didn't like the look and felt dinky. What do you guys use for 20+# rods?

I would post some pictures but Im not sure how
