Wrapping Thread, Epoxy, Blank, Fly Tying Thread release schedule

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for visiting our booth at ICRBE. It was great to see our rod building.org forumers that I knew only by name. We officially launched our STWRAP along with other samples of rod building stuffs like Epoxy, Blank, Silk thread. We also presented our epoxy finished STWRAP wrapping on our own blank. For those who didn't make the show, let me recap our updated release schedule here,

- STWRAP
. Nylon thread 8 more colors : Apr
. NCP thread 16 colors : Sep
. Silk thread AAA/AA/A : Apr
. Metallic, Neon, Zebra (2 color twist) : by end of 2018

- Epoxy : Jun

- Blank (T800 based) : Early 2019

- Others
. Fly Tippet (SS Leader) : May
. Braided main line Razor (3/4/5/6 lb) : Apr - This is the hair thin white line you saw at our booth (thinnest braided line in the world)
. Fly tying thread 40 UV colors for 10 sizes (#18/0 ~ K) : Jun

I'm asked a few times at the show if our fly tying thread's with various colors could be used for rod building. It sounds workable coz our tying threads are high quality nylon with huge color selection and more thickness variations (10 sizes) than STWRAP. Even the price is almost half of STWRAP, which makes it more plausible to use tying thread for wrapping. However, we don't recommend it for rod building mainly for 3 reasons.

It's much less stretchable/recoverable and unlikely to hold guide foot properly like STWRAP. It's not meant for color preservers and epoxy coat so it has good chance to bring unwanted result. Also, tying thread doesn't need much color fastness and it was manufactured that way. It doesn't mean it loses color in a few days (actually our tying thread should hold colors as good as other wrapping threads) but color start fading much quickly. In manufacturer's viewpoint, tying thread is a lot easier to produce with simple dying process involved. It doesn't need complicated winding process either. There are a lot of chemistry and different conditions involved in STWRAP's stretch, color fastness, epoxy absorption, etc for every single color, however. Generally speaking, UV colors cannot go along with wrapping thread's required property.

Though we don't recommend tying thread for quality rod building, it's still up to each builder. If you desire so, we have 40 colors and 10 sizes ranging from 5A to K which is more than enough for any type of rods.
Thanks.
