9’ Snook Rod

I am looking for a 9’ 20-40 blank (or something around that line rating) to build a spinning rod for my 6000 saragosa that I will be fishing with for big snook. I have looked at some blanks including the Calstar E-Glass Rod Blank 530-B [9'0" 15-40lb.] I want a composite or fiberglass blank. I cant decide if I want the calstar 530-B because it say that is has a butt diameter of 1.25 inches which I feel may be too wide. Does anybody know any good blanks, possibly calstar, Batson, or lamiglass, that will apply to my situation.

Would the batson rainshadow r7 sw1089 be a good option?

Thanks, Noah Steckley

The most popular from RainShadow is the RX7 SW1088. The 1089 would work but that’s a good amount heavier in power. [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]

If you wanted to go high end, The Judge Live Bait JDGLB810L or JDGLB810ML would work. It’s a made in USA blank, so a higher price tag. [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com]

Check out United Composites GUSA series. The US 90 Mega fits your application (20-40lb, 1-5oz, MF action). Butt is .796 on that blank.
