PacBay wrapper orientation change. Left to right? Right to left?

Has anyone considered or actually reconfigured their PacBay/Alps/American Tackle power wrapper to a ‘right to left’ orientation? I’ve been using it left to right for 7 years...but it’s always felt a bit awkward. Almost as if I’ve learned to play the guitar left handed.

Raymond, go to page 3 and read the Renzetti post near the bottom of the page. It might help.

I am left handed and from my very first rod, I have always had the power head on the right side, so that I can use my left hand to be free and clear.

Also, whenever I set up my electronics or mechanic work station, I always arrange the station so that I have my electric drills, soldering irons and tools on my left side.

My left hand is my tool hand and that is where I want my tools to be located.

On the other hand, if they have their rather's most right handed individuals prefer their tools and other supplies on the right side since the right hand is their grab and tool hand.

So, of course, set up your wrapper on the side that you wish.

However, most folks need to reverse the direction of the motor when they reverse the side to side orientation of a power wrapper. If you have a DC motor on your wrapper, you flip a switch. If you have an AC motor, then the best solution is to buy a different motor with the correct motor rotation.

Good luck

Thanks, Roger! I think that’s what’ll eventually happen. I’ll flip the setup to the other side...and get a two-way motor. Problem solved!
