As a fan of using Hypalon for my grips, I've not had any experience with EVA grips. Question: Which is preferred? Shimming the blank to mount an EVA grip or reaming the i.d. of the grip to fit the blank? Is there much stretch/compression like there is with hypalon? Any help would be most appreciated.....

It stretches a good amount. Use the adhesive as a lubricant to slide it in place. Re: EVA Question

not only is it the right way it also is good practice if you ever need to ream cork for a good fit on that special rod.
you know that cork isn't cheap also for reaming foam cores for reel seats all part of the learning curve in building top quality rods for your self or friends/customers knowing that you did your very best no cut corners The best day to be alive is always tomorrow !! Ever since I learned the trick of using rubber cement to lubricate the blank I haven't had an issue sliding a grip on as long as it was in the ballpark.. Re: EVA Question

There you go. And it can be a pretty good sized ballpark. Still amazes me how many people still want to ream. Re: EVA Question

Reaming is easy and it works, I’m sure rubber cement also works. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Pick the method you like and use it.
