Hey folks,

Looking to dive a little deeper into rod building, and was going to pick up a copy of Dale Clemens Adv. Custom Rod Building to help me a long the way. Looking around, it seems there are several printings, a 1978, a 1987/88 and a 2008/13. Wondering if there are any significant differences between the various printings. If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it. Found a brief comment somewhere on the forum that at least one version was just a reprint, not an update, but I've also found at least one website claiming the 2013 paperback "has been completely updated, revised, and expanded". Any clarity would be great.

Tom Kirkman's book provided me with a great foundation for knowledge on rodbuilding, which I was able to apply with great success. After building a few rods using the information I had learned, I purchased Dale Clemen's Adv. Custom Rod Building 2008/13, and found it to be a good followup to expand on my knowledge of the more advanced techniques members of this forum often discuss. This book also taught me how to make more informed decisions on which products to buy and which aspects of those products fit into what I was looking for. As per the earlier printings I have no experience with them.
