L guides will work, but in my opinion the KB/KTs are better due to their tangle free and more durable design. KBs are used in the midsection (belly) of the rod and have a wider and longer foot which help resist the forces generated when the rod is fully loaded. KTs have a smaller foot and are used in the tip section of the rod where load forces are not as great. If you need a size 5 ring tip top with a black frame try the American Tackle ring lock light tip top, they are the ones used for the Microwave guides, and are a close match.
