Has anybody ever but snake guides on a bass casting rod, if so what size did you use and what is the guide spacing. I am building a 7'6" rod for a bait casting rod.

Snake guides are made to be used on the underside of a rod. It is conceivable that they could be used on a spiral wrapped rod, for the underside guides at least, but there are much, much better choices for what you're wanting to do.

Ronny,
Remember, this is called - "custom rod building."

I would be interested in hearing how a set of snake guides would work on a bass rod. I am guessing that they would not work well, but I might be surprised.

As Tom Suggested, there is no bottom on a snake guide, so for the guide to function correctly, the line needs to be against the guide which means that the guide needs to be on the underside of the blank.

Good luck

I would say no to snake guides. If you are looking for a light guide train, go with the Minima4 casting guides (T) in size 10 and 6 followed by Minima4 fly guides (F) in size 4 or 3 as runners. Use a matching tip top. Nice light guide train that works well.
