Like to stay on top of my winter hobbies like rod building and crankbait painting. In the past year has any product, component or technique changed the way you would build a casting/spinning rod? I'm aware and use the Fuji KR concept, but that first appeared a few years back. Made a reverse boring bit for grips on my last casting rod builds a week ago. Thanks, Tuna Re: Latest Rod Building Innovations

Started building a lot of spiral wrapped (with micro guides) casting rods about 5 years ago and haven't stopped yet. Not really a new Idea but I think revived with the KR concept and the micro guides create a very innovative rod. I also like those new AT reel seats, they look very cool. The new American Tackle reel seats are the only new product that has come out recently with a big impact. Capt. Craig Freeman Grading Scales Sportfishing and Back River Rods Re: Latest Rod Building Innovations

Winn grips have only been around for a short time and have had a large impact.

Has anyone tried using a JigSkinz pattern on a blank? Re: Latest Rod Building Innovations

Somewhere (probably in a basement in Japan) someone is probably designing a special dropshot rod. It weighs one ounce, has no guides and a rear grip that conforms to anyone's hand who holds it. Re: Latest Rod Building Innovations

And they hold it like an ice fishing rod... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
